Multiple Sclerosis is a condition which affects millions of people the world over, and though its causes are becoming better understood by the day, and the treatments are improving, there is still much work to be done. The search for a cure to MS requires the time, effort, and dedication of countless medical professionals and backers to the cause. Stony Brook’s Lourie Center for Pediatric MS, as well as their adult MS treatment center, are home to a number of these fine individuals.
On November 20th, the Lourie Center held their fifth annual Harvest Sunset Dinner to honor some of those people committed to the cause of treating Multiple Sclerosis, and we’re proud to announce that our very own Michael Levine and his wife Dr. Pamela Weber were amongst them. Michael and Pamela have devoted themselves to this cause for years, and their daughter Carly (who is still in high school!) has worked in the Lourie Center lab on MS research.
“One of the many joys of my career is the ability to help great causes like this. It’s something that’s very dear to me.” said Mike Levine. “I’m absolutely overjoyed to be honored by The Lourie Center, but the real honor is that I’ve had the chance to work with these people on something that could help better the lives of millions of MS sufferers. You can bet I’ll continue to assist the fight against MS in any way I can.”
Proceeds from the Harvest Sunset Dinner go directly into research at the Lourie Center, and the event itself was a great success.
